Data protection

Scope of application

This privacy statement informs the user about the nature, scope and purposes of the collection and use of personal data by the relevant provider, Deal Estate, Bruchstrasse 6, 6003 Lucerne, info@dealestate.ch on this website (hereinafter “offering”).

The legal basis for data protection can be found in Article 13 of the Swiss Federal Constitution and in the provisions on data protection of the Confederation (Data Protection Act, DPA).

Access data / server log files

The provider (or its webspace provider) collects data every time the offering is accessed (known as server log files). This access data includes the following:

name of website accessed, file, date and time of access, data volume transferred, report on successful access, browser type/version, IP address and the requesting provider.

The provider uses this protocol data only for statistical evaluations in connection with the operation, security, and optimisation of the offering. However, the provider reserves the right to review the protocol data at a subsequent point in time if there are specific grounds that would justify suspicion of unlawful usage.

Contracting companies with which Deal Estate collaborates

Deal Estate AG works with a number of trustworthy third-party companies (e.g. providers of IT services), thanks to whom we are able to offer, improve, protect, and promote our services. These third-party companies only access your data to fulfil specific tasks as mandated by us, and even then only in accordance with these data protection guidelines.

Handling of personal data

Personal data is information that can help identify a person, i.e. the data that can be traced back to a specific person. This includes name, e-mail address and telephone number. However, data on preferences, hobbies, memberships, or which websites someone has visited also counts as personal data.

Personal data is only collected, used and passed on by the provider if this is permitted by law or if users agree to the collection of this data.

Contact

When establishing contact with the provider (e.g. via contact form or e-mail), the user’s data is stored for the purposes of processing their enquiry and for any questions that may arise at a later point in time.

Comments and contributions

If users leave comments or other contributions in the blog, their IP addresses are stored. This is done for the security of the provider, to cover situations in which someone has added unlawful content in comments and contributions (slander, prohibited political propaganda, etc.). In such a scenario, the provider itself can be deemed liable for the comment or contribution in question, and therefore has an interest in the identity of the author.

Newsletter

The newsletter is used to inform you about us and our offers.

If you wish to subscribe to the newsletter, we require a valid e-mail address, as well as information that permits us to verify that you are the owner of the e-mail address indicated, or that the owner has agreed to receive the newsletter. No further data is collected. This data is only used for the purpose of sending the newsletter, and is not passed on to third parties.

When you register for the newsletter, we save your IP address and the date of registration. This is undertaken solely to provide proof in the event of a third party misusing an e-mail address and registering for receipt of the newsletter without the knowledge of the rightful person.

The consent you give us to store your data and e-mail address and to use these to send the newsletter may be revoked by you at any time. This revocation can be effected via a link in the newsletters themselves, in your profile area, or by getting in touch with us via one of the contact options given above.

Involvement of services and content of third parties

It is possible for the content of third parties, such as YouTube videos, map material from Google maps, RSS feeds, and graphics from other websites, to be included in this online offering. This always requires the providers of such content (hereinafter referred to as “third-party providers”) being able to identify the IP address of the user. Without this IP address, they would not be able to send the relevant content to the user’s browser. The IP address is therefore essential for presentation of this content. We strive to use such content only in respect of providers that use the IP address solely for the delivery of the content in question. However, we have no influence when it comes to third-party providers storing this IP address information, e.g. for statistical purposes. Insofar as we become aware of this, we will inform users accordingly.

Cookies

Cookies are small files that enable specific device-related information to be saved on the user’s access device (PC, smartphone, etc.). On the one hand they are used to make websites more user-friendly for users (e.g. for saving login data). On the other, they serve to collect statistical data on website usage, which can then be analysed for the purpose of improving the offering. The user can influence the way cookies are used. Most browsers provide an option that enables the user to restrict or completely prevent the storage of cookies. However, it should be pointed out that usage of a website and in particular its ease of use will be restricted in the absence of cookies.

You can manage many online advertisement cookies from companies through the US website http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ or the EU website http://www.youronlinechoices.com/uk/your-ad-choices/ .

Registration function

The data entered during the registration process is used for the purposes of managing the offering. Users may be informed by e-mail about offering-relevant or registration-relevant information, such as changes to the scope of the offering or technical issues. The data collected can be viewed in an input screen during registration.
